Guerrilla Marketing Examples
66So what is guerrilla marketing?
In my own words
It is a way of advertising and promoting your service/product without having a huge financial budget. Think about it: you see ads every day, but you don't often pay attention, just walk past.
Once in a while you come across with something that catches your attention, makes you curious - this can be guerrilla marketing. It's for small/start-up companies that really have nothing to lose, must try and succeed getting into the market using creativity, imagination, patience, hard work and love for your product or service.
Guerrilla marketing is also used by well known brands, it's a way of saving money and making a huge affect world-wide. Let's take a look at some examples of guerrilla marketing:
In the middle of attention all day - creative zoo promotion
Duracell promotion
Attention seeking guerrilla marketing idea - Citroën
Thinking of training your dog?
Walking down the street, what a hell is .... this?
Guerrilla marketing, now you know what it is.
So now that you know what it is, can you think of any ideas of how can you promote your products or services?
Maybe you can suggest it to your friends or family. Your objective is to create an advertising method with provoking concept that generates a buzz!
Good emotions and unique ideas spread fast. People have this ambition, to be first at saying news to others. It can be bad things, it can be good things. Examples: "Have you heard "name namer" is dead?", "Have you seen this new movie it's so funny", "I'm so sharing this music or funny video on Facebook". This ambition works well in guerrilla marketing.
Here's a good example of what I'm talking about:
New online insurance company guerrilla marketing
Secrets of guerilla marketing.
Successful guerrilla marketing:
- create ideas that generate curiosity and lots of interest;
- think of ways how curious people can "help" you with your advertisement (the video above is an example);
- experiment with a few ideas;
- be patient, good ideas take time;
- forget about competition, focus on cooperation with others;
- your aim is really referrals (recomendations) not just new customers;
- believe in your success;
- be a part of your own campaign.
